With massive names like Leo Messi, Iniesta and Neymar Barcelona predictably has more followers than any other football club. Here in our list, only Barcelona’s English Twitter handle is under discussion, were we to consider all other accounts affiliated to Barcelona, then its twitter followers would be approximately a giant figure of 25 million.

     2. Real Madrid
Barcelona and Madrid are inextricably linked to each other. Both these names remain glued with one another on the points table and here again no one could separate them.       3. Arsenal FC

Arsenal is the most followed English club on twitter. Presence of star footballers like Mesut Ozil is definitely one of the reason behind such magnificent following, however, the fact that Arsenal was among the first batch of clubs to join twitter, has also got to do with this following.

Ivorian Great Soccer Player (Didier Drogba) Retired In August 2014

Didier Drogba

The 36 year old Ivorian said a good bye to international football this month. Didier Drogba was a revelation for Ivory Coast. Before his debut in 2002, Ivory Coast had never qualified for World Cup. But in the presence of Drogba, Ivory Coast went on to qualify in all three World Cups since 2006.

Even at the age of 36 in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Drogba remained an inspiration for his team. In 2014 World Cup, Ivory Coast scored 4 goals in 136 minutes with Drogba on the pitch and failed to score a single goal in 134 minutes without him. Even though his team couldn’t make through the pool round but these numbers speak volumes about his abilities.

A Great Footballer (Miroslav Klose) Retired In Aug 2014

Miroslav Klose (German Player)

Born in Poland in 1978, Miroslav Klose announced his retirement from international football this August. One of the most prolific strikers to have played the beautiful game, Klose, ended his career at a high note. He started his career with Kaiserslautern and one year later got the cap for international German team and since that day he never looked back.

Klose appeared to be at his best when playing in World Cups. During the 2006 World Cup held at Germany, Klose gave his fans all the more reasons to be ecstatic as he scored five more world Cup goals and went one step ahead to bag the Adidas Golden Boot.

This year Klose went on to score his 15th and 16th World Cup goal at Brazil and became the all time highest goal scorer at World Cups by breaking Brazilian Ronaldo’s record of 15 World Cup goals.

One feather which was missing in his cap till the start of this year was the World Cup trophy. He fell one step short of getting his hands on the World Cup in his debut World Cup and even in 2006 and 2010 his team was very close of winning the World Cup but in 2014,Klose and Germany made sure that Klose does not leave the pitch without having the honor of winning the biggest  tournament of football.

Klose’s class is reflected by the number of goals he managed to score for Germany.  His creative and jubilant ways of celebrating his goals were always a sight worth watching especially his somersaulting goal celebrations were great spectacle to watch.Read more...
